I have to say, this was probably one of the most inspiring books I have ever read on the subject of Philanthropy. Bill Somerville, is an extremely compassionate individual who cares deeply for the world of giving.
Bill has worked in the non-profit world for over 48 years, and in his book he shares some of his vast experience with us. I found his personal stories fascinating and his ideas for improving the world of Philanthropy inspiring!
In one section of the book Bill talks about the Love of Humanity and breaks down the word Philanthropy into it's literal definition. Philanthropy - philos, Love; anthropy, Mankind. He suggests that Funders take time to go out into the community, to seek out potential change agents, and get to know them.
