About Me

About Me:I got involved in philanthropy after I had realized that if I wanted a better world, then I had to do more than hope for it - I had to get involved.

I currently support and volunteer with organizations that help At-Risk teens and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

"I believe if we want change we need to use our power to make a difference."

A Book Meme
Tuesday, October 02, 2007
Recently I was invited by Karen, over at Beyond Understanding.. to participate in a Book Meme, and so here goes.... :)

Total number of books: The total number of books I own, could probably fill a public library, ( no kidding ) I have some in boxes, in storage, on shelves.. bookcases and under the bed, and beside the bed! - Not to mention all of Barnes & Noble, I spend many Sundays in there drinking Starbucks and reading books.

Last book read:

Obama: From Promise to Power

Last book bought:
Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope -by Jenna Bush - Bought it 5 Minutes Ago ;)

Five meaningful books:
The Art of Happiness: A Handbook for Living by Howard Cutler
The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream by Barack Obama
A Hand to Guide Me by Denzel Washington
Field Notes on the Compassionate Life: A Search for the Soul of Kindness by Marc Ian Barasch
Wisdom of Our Fathers: Lessons and Letters from Daughters and Sons by Tim Russert

Choosing five people for this meme is hard, I wish I could choose 10 or 12 but here they are.

1. Make It Great - Phil
2. The Good News Blog - Jose
3. Lylin's Blog - Lylin
4. Have Fun Do Good - Britt
5. Inspirations and Creative Thoughts - Sadiq
